Hi everyone! Well Spring has definitely sprung and I am feeling quite upbeat. I had a blip recently with some work related stress (nothing new there!) AND I broke my diet to eat some ‘banned’ items (it was a treat!) and unsurprisingly this has resulted in a slight return of the candida. It just seems to lurk in my system waiting for me to eat something bad e.g. bread and sugar. A lot of stress then helps the candida to reappear. My naturopath confirmed this but I dont have any major symptoms just my own little tell-tale signs. However this seems quite unusual and my naturopath has suggested that the candida may be lodged in my digestive system and I am not managing to remove it enough. He has suggested a colon cleanse. I have done some research and I am intrigued. Has anyone else tried this? I am not brave enough to try colonic irrigation (yet). I like the sound of Colosan and I am wondering to try it out. But I am nervous as I lead a busy life. I dont know how strong the effect will be or how long will it last? I am considering taking it on a Friday evening so I have all weekend if it doesnt agree with me. I’ll let you know how I get on!

Hi.I have candida for the past 8 years.I am on the anti candida diet the last 3 weeks. Not one bad thing entered my body.Until yesterday and today.I had 7 bars of chocolate.I think some words of encouragement will help me along in this dark time. It’s only dark because of my attitude from eating the bars.Giving up the nice foods in life is nearly as hard as giving up cigs a year ago.

Hi Claire
Cutting out your favourite foods is always difficult and it doesnt help that the candida may be creating sugar cravings. I used to take chromium to prevent these cravings for sugar. I also used to eat sugar-free sweets (only 1 or 2 due to the laxative effect!) which can help if you have a sweet tooth. Heck I’ve even been know to sniff chocoloate or take a sneaky lick of a piece of chocolate! Don’t tell anyone! If you really must eat chocolate why try the dieter’s tip which is to eat one small chunk and then hide the bar. The theory is that once your brain registers that you have enjoyed some chocolate it doesnt distinguish between one chunk and the whole bar. These days I tend to chew sugar free mint and chocolate chewing gum which smells and tastes quite chocolately! Dont worry about eating all those bars of chocolate, try to stick to the diet knowing that once the candida is gone (or down to a very low ‘normal’ level) you will feel so much better and hopefully you will be able to reintroduce some of your fav foods back into your diet (in moderation). Good luck! Katie x
